Landslide in Barangay Mercedes

Based on the report submitted by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), 25 families are affected, 11 households were evacuated with two (2) totally damaged houses and three (3) partially damaged houses due to the landslide at Barangay Mercedes last night, July 19, 2017.

Our City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) have already interviewed affected families relative to our possible relocation or financial assistance.

This area has long been identified to be of high-risk but due to unavailability of possible relocation site, several families are still occupying the said areas. That is why, we have identified a separate area in Barangay Payao to be our relocation site and evacuation center for all vulnerable families as verified by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB).
