Air Juan will now fly to Catbalogan City!

Finally, Air Juan will now fly to Catbalogan through our Buri Airport with an initial schedule of twice a week for Cebu City via Biliran. Every Mondays and Saturdays will be the initial flight schedules of the said airline, which is a Filipino company that operates seaplanes, land planes and helicopters providing fast and convenient air transport services to the Philippines’ most beautiful destinations with a corporate office at Bonifacio Global City serving operations in Manila, Palawan and Cebu.

City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan who has been at forefont of this milestone shared that this opportunity has been a long waited dream of Catbaloganons to finally operationalize the Buri Airport situated at Buri Island and be able to reach destinations such as Cebu City, Manila and other parts of the country.

“They say it was impossible but in God’s time, everything is possible.” This was the statement of Mayor Step when she shared the news via her facebook page this Sunday, March 04, 2018.

“Gin-aaghat ko mga igkasi ko Catbaloganon nga suportahan naton ini nga oportunidad kay ini nga iyo administrasyon, deri mahunong hangtod deri maihahatag an kaangayan nga mga oportunidad para mas mapadali ngan mas mag-uswag an aton ginhihigugma nga ciuda,” she further emphasizes.

Catbalogan Buri Airport, which has a 1.2km concrete runway is said to be already ready to accommodate land planes and even turbo propeller planes as shared by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

With this operationalization of the airport, Catbalogan expects to bring in not just more tourists and visitors but more investments geared towards socio-economic and sustainable development.
