BJMP Catbalogan City celebrates Community Relations Service Month

To cap off the Community Relations Service Month of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) with the theme “Serbisyo-Publikong Tapat, Nagmamalasakit at May Integridad, Tagumpay ng Bawat Komunidad”, an invitation to City Councilor Hon. Stephany Uy-Tan was graciously accepted as she visited the now-serving Catbalogan City Jail at Barangay Lagundi, this City last June 28, 2012.

Councilor Uy-Tan along with several Sangguniang Kabataan Chairs, WARAYA members and youth leaders gave out lunch packs and hygiene kits to forty (40) inmates and several grocery items for their usage and was assisted by SJ04 Alfie Paraiso, Jail Warden.

The said visit was an opportunity for the officials of BJMP to disclose to the City Government their concerns and requests to ensure the safety and security of the facility, and an opportunity for City Councilor Uy-Tan to reach out to Catbalogan inmates and to extend her wholehearted support to the office.

The Catbalogan City Jail managed by BJMP was only opened in 2011 and is currently holding forty (40) inmates and seven (7) BJMP Officers and Jail Guards.
