Catbalogan City’s Manaragat Festival recognized as best practice

Our very own Manaragat Festival is acknowledged as one of the good practices by the Agenda 21, which is a collection of best practices in the area of culture and local sustainable development.

These good practices are anchored on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted at the United Nations in 2015 and will provide guidance for development policies around the world for 15 years and the Culture 21 Actions, which is a key guiding document on culture and cities.Committee on Culture of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) elaborated a list of keywords which can be used to describe, classify and define good practices in the local implementation of the Agenda 21 for culture and Culture 21 Actions.

Selection of the best practices were based on the following criteria: Innovation, Participation, Sustainability, Efficiency, Transversality, and Reproducibility.…/manaragat-festival…
