Catbalogan contingent offers thanksgiving mass before leaving for Aliwan Fiesta 2017

Tribu Katbalaugan attends Thanksgiving Mass at St. Bartholomew Church before they leave for Manila for the Aliwan Fiesta 2017.

Gunning for a three-peat championship win this year in the said national competition of festival champions, Aliwan Fiesta is annually organized by the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) together with Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the cities of Manila and Pasay now on its 15th year since 2003.

This third participation of Catbalogan City through official festival contingent Tribu Katbalaugan after successfully winning for two consecutive years in 2015-2016 and now for a possible hall-of-fame win is highly supported by City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan who identifies tourism as one of the thrusts of her local administration.

Also supporting the contingent are SM, Robinsons Malls, Robinsons Land Corporation, and the Sinulog Foundation, Inc. (Sinulog Festival) after winning the 2017 street dancing competition and a 1st runner-up finish in the ritual dance competition recently in Cebu City.
