Catbalogan DRRMC undergoes regular weekend drill

As part of its regular refresher training, members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) underwent a weekend drill last October 18 and 19, 2014 at Oras, Eastern Samar.

Training course included Water Search and Rescue (WASAR), Bandaging, Extrication and other necessary emergency drills. Leading the team was CDRRMC Action Officer Mr. Eliot Lopez, Jr. who assisted in the said training.

Members of the CDRRMC are from various socio-civic organizations and communication groups in the city, ensuring wide and meaningful participation of people’s organizations in the affairs of the local government unit.

With the current thrust of the administration of Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan in promoting a resilient and prepared community, it is one of its priority programs aimed at ensuring a safe and secure Catbalogan.

Republic Act No. 10121 otherwise known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 is the governing policy strengthening the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System approved on May 27, 2010 by the President of the Philippines.
