Catbalogan earns seal of good financial housekeeping for 2018

Congratulations to the City Government of Catbalogan for garnering the 2018 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

SGFH, formerly the Seal of Good Housekeeping, refers to the compliance of the local government unit with accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations.

These include Unqualified or Qualified Commission on Audit Opinion of the immediately preceding year as well as Compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy of Local Budget and Finances, Bids and Public Offerings such as Annual Budget, Statement of Receipts and Expenditures, Annual Procurement Plan or Procurement List, and Bid Results on Civil Works, Goods and Services and Consulting Services, among others.

Catbalogan City has consistently passed for six (6) consecutive years since 2013 under the administration and leadership of City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan.

She further expressed that “this validates our stern financial management of our local funds with full transparency.”

The annual award of the SGFH of the DILG is aimed at sustaining the practice of accountability and transparency while espousing a pro-active financial management.
