Catbalogan gets recognition from national BFP

Catbalogan City receives national recognition for support to the local Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), which was highlighted during its 43rd Fire Service Recognition Day held last December 14, 2016 Diliman, Quezon City.

Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan received the award as one (1) of the seven (7) cities in the whole country recognized by the bureau during its ceremony, which had DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno as its guest of honor and speaker with His Excellency Kazuhide Ishikawa, Japan‘s Ambassador to the Philippines along with BFP officials present during the said event.

Being the lone city from Eastern Visayas receiving the recognition, Mayor Step shared her delight in the award that the city received, extending her thanks to BFP and DILG.

“Thank you for recognizing the efforts of the City Government in terms of its coordination and help extended to the bureau through equipment donation and other operational support in order to better serve Catbaloganons” she shares.

Mayor Step further assured that her administration will continuously support the advocacies of the bureau especially with the promotion of fire safety anchored on her administration’s vision of a safe, secure and resilient city.
