Catbalogan joins other cities towards Climate Change resiliency

Key officials of the City headed by City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan attended an orientation workshop on Upscaling Climate Change Initiatives conducted by Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN) on May 08, 2014 at Twin’s Restaurant, Catbalogan City.

Output of the workshop was a memorandum of understanding between the City of Catbalogan and the ICLEI-SEA-Local Governments for Sustainability Southeast Asia Incorporated to further push the current initiatives on climate change resiliency in the City of Catbalogan.

Catbalogan was chosen by the network as one of 9 cities targeted by the network to give technical assistance in the initiatives for climate change resiliency program.

ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability is the world’s leading association of cities and local governments dedicated to sustainable development.

It is a powerful movement of 12 mega-cities, 100 super-cities, 450 large cities and urban regions as well as 450 small and medium-sized cities and towns in 83 countries.
