Catbaloganon farmers receive land titles and deed of donation from National Government

One of the priority programs of the present administration of President Rodrigo Duterte is on food security.  Unfortunately, some of our marginal farmers do not have the access to own their own land for food production.  In order to answer the present situation of our famers, the national government, through the implementing arm agency, the  Department of Agrarian Reform has a promising program to distribute land to the landless with the cooperation of the  land owners through the Voluntary Offer to Sale (VOS) program.

The Local Government Unit of Catbalogan is one of the recipient LGUs of the Province of Samar with more than 100 farmers who were awarded with Certificate of Land Ownership Acquisition (CLOA) for them to legally use the farm land they are presently tilling.

It is through the efforts of the Department of Agrarian Reform, R8 and the City Government of Catbalogan that made the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) and Signing of the Deed of Donation (DOD) possible last August 30, 2018 at Samar State University, Catbalogan City.

The Local Government Unit of Catbalogan through the City Agriculture Office will provide technical assistance and other planting materials available to the farmer beneficiaries to help them produce more farm products for their family consumption and sell excess of the same  in the market and the farmer beneficiaries are expected to join the Farmers Association present in the barangay to be monitored by the agency personnel to check whether the farm lot awarded to them was used by the farming beneficiaries.
