Children’s Workshop for NCCA Project in Catbalogan taps Manaragat Ambassadors and Ambassadresses

Consistent with their advocacy of preserving our culture and heritage, the Manaragat ambassadors and ambassadresses attended the Writeshop on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) in Relation to Community Heritage last September 5-6, 2017, together with representatives from The City Government of Catbalogan.

This is part of the Layag Samar Project of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Samar State University and the Samar Island Heritage Foundation. The final output of the said activity was the formulation of a plan. They have chosen to do a Children’s Workshop that aims to inform, educate and communicate to the children the Basics of DRR. They plan to do it through hazard maps coloring activity, storytelling and allegorical plays to make it easier for the children to understand their community heritage, the primary source of response to disaster preparedness.
