City conducts Strategic Planning Training among Cooperative Officers

To enhance the basic competencies of the board of directors and the general manager of the cooperatives in establishing strategic plan/direction, options, strategies and implementation of the same in their respective organisations, the City Cooperatives Office has recently conducted a Strategic Planning last May 27 – 29, 2014.

The course is one of the mandatory training curricula prescribed by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) pursuant to Republic Act 9520 and Rule 7, Section 5 of its Implementing Rules and Regulation, and in consonance to Memorandum Circular No. 2011-11-01 dated February 22, 2011.

More than 60 participants from various cooperatives in the city attended the said training, which topics covered on the state of Philippine Cooperatives, Global Issues and Trends including Market, Technology, Environment among others, Strategic Planning Framework and Process, SWOT Analysis, Formulation of Vision, Mission and Goals, and other relevant topics.

The course was conducted by accredited training institution/s and/or trainers duly authorized by the Authority (CDA) following the suggested modules/curriculum containing the minimum curriculum requirements. .

Upon completion of the course, the participants shall be able to gain and apply knowledge, skills and attitude in the preparation and implementation of their cooperative’s strategic plans and directions.
