Said celebration is aimed at creating awareness of the rights and roles of women in helping shape the nation’s future and to pay tribute to the strong and resilient “Juanas” who brought inspiring changes in the country and across the globe.

This year’s theme “Juana, ang Tatag Mo ay Tatag Natin sa Pagbangon at Pagsulong!” echoes the role of women’s strength towards social progress and development.

The GAD Council meeting was convened by Council Chair City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan as mandated by law and as her being one of the staunch advocates of women’s rights and empowerment.
