City generates mor ethan 3,000 job opportunities during 2017 Job and Business Fair

Catbalogan City has successfully hosted the first regional job and business fair in Samar Island for 2017 as assisted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as part of Catbalogan’s 10th Charter Anniversary celebration.

Out of the more than 3,000 job vacancies at stake for both local and foreign employment, several job applicants were hired on-the-spot as reported by Public Employment Services Officer, Ms. Maila de Guia.

The ‘Kalayaan Job & Business Fair’ was part of the nationwide activity in select cities under the Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan (TNK) program of DOLE and DTI that aims to provide decent and easy employment for jobseekers and promote entrepreneurship among applicants who will not be qualified for employment.

The City Government of Catbalogan under the leadership of Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan is part of her thrust of assisting Catbaloganons find sustainable solutions to economic and social problems.
