City initiates its Annual “Dugo Mo, Kinabuhi Ko” Bloodletting Activity

The City Government of Catbalogan through the City Health Office shall be conducting the Annual Bloodletting Activity dubbed as “DUGO MO, KINABUHI KO” this coming February 21, 2012 at the City Health Office vicinity, Pier II, this City.

 

The following are the specific qualifications:
– Aging between 18 and 60 years old
– Weighing at least 50 kgs
– Both men and women are accepted donors
– Absence of body or ear piercing and tattooing
– Has not undergone recent surgical procedures
– Is not alcoholic or should refrain from alcoholic drinks a day before the scheduled bloodletting

Advantages in donating blood are the following:

– Alleviate some major health problems like heart disease and cancer
– Stimulates the production of new blood cells and refreshes the system
– Burns extra calories and reduces cholesterol levels
– An act of altruism makes you feel good
– Free Health Screening

Disadvantages include mild nausea and mild dizziness.
Giving feels great especially when you understand that one hour of your time and one pint of blood can save so many people. Remember, “If you donate money, you give food. But if you donate blood, you give life!” 🙂
