City joins DepEd’s Solidarity Conference

Solidarity Conference
November 05, 2015

To the Division Superintendent of Department of Education Catbalogan City Division, Mr. Cristito Eco, to chiefs and directors of various divisions of the City Division, District Supervisors, Principals, Teachers, Coaches, Trainers, pupils and students present, guests, ladies and gentlemen.

With the advent of a more sophisticated yet simplified society in which physical activity is substituted by clicks of gadgets and dictates of technology, the demand for athletic events such as the Catbalogan City Athletic Association (CCAA) Meet is but imperative and timely. Athletic Meet provides a varied experience that is unique from the usual learners’ classroom activities and complimentary to their mental/intellectual knowledge learned from schools.

It is during these times that we are able to develop on our learners, values of sportsmanship, perseverance and sacrifice. It is with your guidance and support that all these will be possible.

It is with much confidence and faith that I entrust this serious responsibility to the Catbalogan City Division. I am certain that they will be able to carry out this duty with success just as they have done in the previous CCAA Meets. As for the athletes, always remember that there can be no joy in winning a medal if it is at the expense of losing your morals. Therefore, I bid you to aim for the higher form of victory, which is that achieved by respecting the rules of the game.
