City kicks off Measles, Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Mass Immunization

The City Government of Catbalogan through the City Health Office strongly supports the Department of Health in its quest to immunize all children below 5 years old against Measles, Rubella and Polio.

The launching was held at Brgy. Canlapwas, Catbalogan City because the said barangay is considered a high risk area and the most populous barangay in the city.
The activity was highlighted with the presence of the very supportive City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan.

“Ini nga pagbakuna han mga kabataan usa nga pamaagi para malikyan an mga sakit na Measles, Rubella ngan Polio” she quipped.

She also stressed that there is no reason that the parents will not let their children be vaccinated considering the immunity that the children will get from the vaccine.

A supplemental feeding was also conducted parallel to the theme, “Maupay nga Panlawas han mga Kabataan Urusa naton nga Makakab-utan, Pinaagi hin hin Masustansiya nga Pagkaon ngan Bakuna Kumpletuhon”

A total 683 children was vaccinated against Polio and 605 against Measles and Rubella and were subsequently given supplemental feeding.

The program is set to run until the end of September targeting almost 14, 000 eligible population in the entire city.
