City launches Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance Search

In celebration of the 22nd National Children’s Month pursuant to DILG Memorandum No. 2014-108 enjoining all local government units to celebrate with the theme, “Bata Kasali ka, Ikaw ay Mahalaga!”, the Local Government Operations Office in Catbalogan City has recently launched the “Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance” last October 17, 2014 at Twin’s Resto Bar.

Called the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), the audit system will measure LGUs performance in the delivery of services that would generate positive results for children.

Under the CFLGA, all cities and municipalities shall be assessed to gauge their level of performance in implementing child-friendly programs and instituting measures that promote children’s welfare.

Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan was personally present with other members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) who pledged their support to the Four (4) Basic Rights of Children along with several Barangay Chairs of the city.
