Concessionaires convene for plaza food park

The City Tourism, Culture, Arts and Information Office (CTCAIO) has recently organized a meeting among would-be concessionaires for this year’s conduct of “Karasa ha Plaza – Manaragat Food Park” to discuss on the guidelines and agreements. 

For the whole month of August, twenty (20) concessionaires will have the opportunity to sell food products varying from barbecues, rice meals, sumsuman, and even desserts and native delicacies including beverages as Catbaloganons and Samarnons flock the City Plaza for the nightly cultural presentations and various competitions. 

To be made in coordination with the city’s newly-organized enforcement unit, safety and security will be ensured as well compliance to health and sanitation standards will be made in order to provide improved products and services to all.

The conduct of the food park has been institutionalized through City Ordinance No. 2018-015 that declared the whole month of August of every year as Manaragat Festival Month-long Fiesta Celebration and the City Plaza as the Tourism, Culture, and Arts Site of the said celebration.

Started in 2004 during the term of then Municipal Mayor Coefredo “Tekwa” Uy and institutionalized by former City Mayor now City Councilor Stephany Uy-Tan, this year will be the 16th year of the conduct of the month-long celebration and will be made better and more responsive through the current administration of City Mayor Dexter Uy.
