December 08, 2020 is a holiday

By virtue of RA 109661, tomorrow, December 08, 2020 and every year thereafter has been declared as a Special Nonworking Holiday in the Philippines.

This is to commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the principal Patroness of the Philippines.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception celebrates the belief in the sinless lifespan and Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on December 8, nine months before the feast of the Nativity of Mary, celebrated on September 8 and the Immaculate Conception refers to the conception of Mary in the womb of her mother, St. Anne.

“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”
