City Health Officer Dr. Gerarda Tizon, Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Amalia Tirazona and former City Administrator and City Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Herminia Cabral eagerly witnessed the turn-over of the facility along with Ms. Jocelyn Nabong, DOH Coordinator for Catbalogan City.

As shared by Ms. Nabong, the new birthing facility included several equipment and other commodities that was assisted and supported by the National Government’s Universal Health Care/Kalusugang Pangkalahatan – Health Facility Enhancement Program.

As expressed by Councilor Stephany Uy-Tan during her speech, “This facility serves as a support service to this administration’s thrust to ensure a safe and efficient delivery of mothers most especially young mothers. As one of UNFPA’s advocacy statements, ‘No woman should die giving life.”, it is one of our government’s prime task to offer basic health services to our constituents especially to marginalized sectors of our society.
