DTI monitors Tindahang Pinoy Project of Catbalogan City

As part of the 2014 Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process (GPBP) priority projects, the City Government of Catbalogan was a recipient of a project from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which is geared towards assisting and capacitating Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) owners in the city.

With the first tranche already downloaded and several project components already implemented, DTI representatives recently visited the Office of the City Mayor to conduct and verify the implementation of the said project.

The visiting team were composed of representatives from Regional Office and from BSMED namely, Ms. Eleanor P. Etulle, Ms. Ma. Carissa Sapera and Ms. Ma. Victoria Magkalas.

City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan along with members of the project’s Technical Working Group (TWG) and DTI Samar Provincial Director Engr. Meilou Macabare and Maila de Guia assisted the said visit.

The Tindahang Pinoy project was launched around 2011 by DTI to provide a permanent outlet for the selling of top quality local products under the Department’s “One Town, One Product” (OTOP) program.

Catbalogan’s Tindahang Pinoy Project will be under the brainchild program of STEP-C or the Samar Tourism & Entrepreneurship Promotions Center.
