City Mayor Stephany Uy – Tan boldly goes where most politicians dare not thread – inside a radio station, face-to-face with a media man.

Proving to be the anti-theses of the typical politician who is wary of being put in an awkward situation by the media, Mayor Step willingly faced broadcaster Rommel Rutor on the premiere airing of the City Government’s radio program “Catbalogan, Gugma-a ‘Ta!” on September 22, 2014.

Throughout the said program, which has a time slot of 8:30 until 9:30 in the morning, the lady mayor answered questions from listeners and viewers regarding her administration’s projects, programs and other initiatives. She explained that the said program may also serve as a venue where the public may inquire about the city government’s regulations, policies and processes.

In relation to this, department heads of the City Hall had been given instructions to make themselves available in case there are queries concerning their office’s transactions. Mayor Step explained that it is better to answer questions early on than to let misconceptions and misunderstandings spread.

Airing from Monday to Friday, “Catbalogan, Gugma-a ‘Ta” has been airing for three weeks now.
