Short Film-making Contest for 2018 Nutrition Month Celebration

The City Nutrition Council (CNC) is organizing the “Short Film-making Contest” for secondary students of Catbalogan City in time for the 2018 Nutrition Month Celebration.

Theme

Videos must capture the theme “Ugaling magtanim, sapat na nutrisyon aanihin.”

Eligibility

1. Open to groups composed of three (3) amateur film/video-making enthusiasts.

2. Members of the group must be bona fide students of High Schools in Catbalogan City.

3. Can show any of the following:
• Enrollment form
• School records
• School ID
• Endorsement from Adviser/School Head/Principal

Guidelines

1. The video must be in English, Filipino or Winaray/Binisaya and must tackle the theme of this year’s 2018 Philippine Nutrition Month Celebration.

2. The video must be at least three minutes in length and must not exceed four minutes, including the title screen and acknowledgement screen.

3. All entries should begin with a “title screen” that includes the following information:
• Title of the video
• Names of the group members

4. All entries should end with an “acknowledgement screen” that includes the following information:
• Acknowledgement
• Credits to the original sources if any
• All other information presented in the video that must be cited

5. No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.

6. Entries must be in digital format. It is highly recommended to use the most common video codecs (e.g., MP4 format using the H.264 codec) to maximize the chances that the reviewers can see it.

7. In consideration for the opportunity to enter the Philippine Nutrition Month 2018 Short Film-making Contest, participants agree to allow the organizing committee to use their names and photographs for promotional and publicity purposes. All entries will not be returned and will become property of the City Government of Catbalogan upon receipt.

Submission

1. Participants may submit the entries through email at catbalogancity_2007@yahoo.com, or by personally delivering the file to the City Tourism, Culture, Arts and Information Office (CTCAIO) on or before 5:00 PM of July 20, 2018. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

2. Entries must include the following:
• Video file
• Participant’s completed Information Form.
• Photocopy of any of the following: Enrollment form, school records, school ID, endorsement from Adviser/School Head/Principal

Judging and Winners

1. The judging of entries by a panel of experts whose decision will be final shall be based on the following criteria:
• Interpretation of the theme (30%)
• Creativity (30%)
• Technical Skill (20%)
• Social Media Appeal (20%)

2. The 20% Social Media Appeal are combined scores taken from the views (8%), shares (6%), and heart reactions (6%) of the videos on the Captivating Catbalogan Facebook Page. The views, shares and reactions of the videos beyond 11:59 of July 25, 2018 will not be included in the scores.

3. Top three winners will receive the following:
• First Place: P3,000 and a plaque of recognition.
• Second Place: P2,000 and a plaque of recognition.
• Third Place: P1,000 and a plaque of recognition.

4. All other participants will receive a certificate of appreciation.

5. By July 25, 2018, winners will be notified regarding the schedule of the awarding via
e-mail/text message/phone call.
