Government of Catbalogan, 8th Infantry Division Philippine Army and The Waray-Waray Youth Advocates (WARAYA) rolls out today at Camp Lukban, Barangay Maulong, this City.

No less than City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan and 8ID Commanding General Jet B. Velarmino graced the opening of the 3-day youth leadership camp, gathering nearly 150 youth leaders both in-school and out-of-school to be immersed on skills enhancement, values formation and character building.

Anchored on the theme “Youth STEPS UP 4 Catbalogan: D Youth Striving To B Empowered 4 Progressive, Sustainable, Unified and Peaceful Catbalogan”, it echoes the need for young people to be involved in social concerns and to be prepared and armed with sufficient skills, knowledge, values and attitude of leadership as they are our future leaders.

The said summer camp is being facilitated by WARAYA, the leading youth organization in the Province of Samar advocating for youth empowerment among others.

This is the second youth camp co-partnered by the LGU, Philippine Army and WARAYA as one of the many fruitful partnerships on youth advocacies.
