MAYOR STEP TURNS-OVER DSWD SUPPLIES TO RELOCATED FAMILIES

Supported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office No. VIII, the relocated families with its temporary shelter at Villa Paula Subdivision, Barangay Guinsorongan, Catbalogan City were the recent beneficiaries of assistance distributed by City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan last October 02, 2014.

Assisted by City Social Welfare and Development Officer Nida Aroza, items distributed include kitchen sets, blankets, sleeping mats, and kilos of rice under the DSWD’s Food for Work Program.

These families relocated were those affected during the onslaught of Typhoon Glenda in Catbalogan City last July 2014 and are currently living at the temporary bunkhouses installed by the City Government in partnership with private organizations and agencies.

Initiatives are part of the Share a Temporary Home Program (STEHP) of the current administration of Mayor Step as part of her commitment to ensure a safe and secure community for Catbaloganons.
